ReplyDeletePoetry is it rhymes or short stories.
ReplyDeletei guess it can be any one
ReplyDeleteIt is a variety, mother goose rhymes and more. Arefreshingly delightful children's anthology.
ReplyDeleteChildren will adore this book. The illustrations are really kid friendly and humourous.
ReplyDeleteDahlia are these poems catering for all. Are they multicultral?
ReplyDeleteIt has colourful illustrations which will be appealing to all children. It has poems that each-child can relate to and fun reciting it. I has a author which i recognised from previous poetry collections-Robert Louise Stevenson.
ReplyDeleteThe author mr. Lee Hopkins says in his introduction, "Poetry, Indeed, Refreshes the world"! This anthology has universal appeal. Children all over the world can read these poems and relate to them. The illustrations help to extend their thoughts.
ReplyDeleteDid you know that the poen,"There was an old lady who swallowed a fly"" can also be sung. I could teach you guys.
ReplyDeleteYes lorna it does. It can be intergrated into any area of you teaching instruction.
ReplyDeleteyes I agree with you Dahlia sometimes I would let the children actually add music or beat to our poem we learn in class. The poems in this book seem we can also add some beat/music. WHAT YOU THINK?
ReplyDeletethey are also subject base.
ReplyDeleteUsing rythmn as an accompainment sounds great! Children would love this. A number of poems in the books lend themselves to this rhythemic flow.
ReplyDeleteYes I like how it relates to everything in the environment whether it is nature, human or even animation.
ReplyDeleteMr Hopkins has also compiled other anthologies, including, " Days to Celebrate, Marvelous Math" which won Parents Choice Gold Award and was a Reading Rainbow selection.
ReplyDeleteI read that too as well as other anthlogies he has put together.
ReplyDeleteDid you know that Hilary Knight was a male? I have a girl friend by that name. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw a picture of him on the internet. An excellent artist who also paints murals for private homes.
ReplyDeleteHe is a gifted man with a girl name.
ReplyDeleteI never enjoyed poetry as a child but I do so now. Need to find some more of his anthologies.
ReplyDeleteThis book is approiate for all age level whether pre-k right up to upper school.
