  3. Planting The tree of Kenya is a very educational book. It not only teaches us about the history of Kenya but the importance and benifit of planting tress. It also showed us that doing things together can change lives.

  5. This picture books glows with pictures of orange and green landscape dotted with bright blue red, purple and yellow. The pictures really maksethe text comes alive

  6. It is very rich in culture and shows how we can solve problems. The characters had courage through their failures they never gave up.

  7. It is a multicultural book which entails the different lives at Kenya and America. It shows the differnt culture that Dionne had written that children can use to educate themselves about life in Kenya.

  8. Coupled with the rich culture is the multicultural nature of the text.Wangari's education that was obtained in the United States, afforded her the opportunity to study with other nationalities. She said this was a very inspiring time for her, as the students in America dreamed of making the world a better play, as shen stated in her story. The nuns also taught her life-long lessons that would be able to help her outside the walls of the college. Is'nt tjhis what we want for our students?

  9. Yes guys the story had charaters within a cultural group. This was evident when the author mentioned her stay at college.

  11. The story has universal appeal. Children all over the world can identify with the importance of replanting trees due to the effects of deforeststion.

  12. maybe more for grade 3 and up, but it can be use to teach the reason to take care of the environment. What do you say?

  13. I would use it my grade ones how working together cooperatively can make a difference and make the work easier.

  14. yes do sound interesting, they could even use it as one day from the week to plant a tree as a class effort..
