  1. The book The Three Little Pigs retold and illustrated by Barry Moser and published by Little Brown and Company is classified as a Traditional Fantasy is hillarious in nature. It has a simple plot and shows the craftiness of the wolf and the cunning ability of the pigs

  2. The book the Three Little Pigs is one of the favourite of every little boy and girl. The illustration on the cover done by the author Barry Moser tells a story or sends a message that what's inside is worth reading. In judging the book I find the message that both children and even adults too should be careful as they go out in the world to seek their fortune. There are opportunities and there are dangers.

  3. Yvonne do you see why this story is called Traditional Fantasy the animal characters have taken on human form, with human traits. Then not much is being told about the characters in other words the information about them is minimal or termed lean.

  4. The story the Three Little Pigs is classified in the genre of Traditional Fantasy, it is further categorized as a Beast tale as the story is about animals, three pigs and a wolf who are the principal players in the story. This story originated orally but has been retold and illustrated by Barry Moser. Notice how the theme of fear was established in the beginning of the story by the mother pig and carried throughout with the various illustrations. Did you notice that the wolf looked overpowering over the little pigs. Although the third little pig played the hero, he too was afraid of the wolf.

Traditional Fantasies are reveal the basic components parts such as love, fear, greed, jealousy, mercy and so on. look at this These types of stories you will find all around the world and they are basicaally alike because fundamentally human characteristic and motives are universal

  8. My favourite part of this book is the illustrations. These were clear and precise. The first illustration had me thinking what was going on with this family of pigs? Mother had her eyes covered, two of the other pigs were covering their noses while the other was acting innocent. What was really happening here? Any child reading this story and paying special attention to the picture must be wondering the same.

  9. It reminds me of the fear parents have when their children are ready to face the world . Although the wolf is empowering over the pigs the third little pig was able out wit him. I have learnt that no matter the situation if we possess the will we can suceed .

  10. Tracy I would think that the children wouldn't wonder they would make their own interpretation of what is/was happening

  11. This book is obviously intended for students ages 5-6 years. They live in a world of fantasy and are easily distracted. The use of refrains in these literature will be appealing to students of this age. Students are able to use rhymes. Do you realise that the theme of kindness was also being established. The first two little pigs did not purchase the straw or the sticks they asked the men who carried them and they gave them without hesitation. I especially noted the man who had the bricks also gave the pick tools with which to work and cement to use. The illustration made me realise that it was a known fact that everyone was aware of the wolf and so the cement was wolfe pruf and the bricks were labelled "No Wolf Brick." This was sweet. Did you see it?

  13. As simple as this story is it can be use to teach a Social Studies Lesson or even a lesson emphasising good character. It is no wonder the author was awarded numerous awards for his work. He has not deviated away from the original story, it is just the way I remember it when I was a child. A perfect example of A Traditional Fantasy.

  14. This chapter should be about Modern Fantasy however as mentioned before The Three Little Pigs falls into the genre of Traditional Fantasy. This genre is similar to the Modern Fantasy in story elements that violate the natural, physical laws - events akin to magic. The main difference is that Modern Fantasy books have known authors. Modern Fantasy stories are not merely a matter of make-believe. Critics hold this genre to the same basic critical standards as they do other genres. Did you know that Modern Fantasy books must have strong, believable characters, a strong, credible plot and should examine issues of the human condition.
